Superb. I may not agree with all of Comey's decisions, only this volume shows the rigor of his thinking and it's hard to attack. The astonishing thing is that much of his life, in addition to the law, has involved the written report of what constitutes optimal leadership. He'south thought long and hard nearly it. Neither Paul and I tin't recommend the series enough!!! Audiobook... read past James Comey Considering I listened to James Comey talk almost this book on network Goggle box, - mostly the political aspects- the night before information technology's release engagement- I idea I had a good thought of what to await. Plus... I had already respected this human being - and believed what he said that dark. Yet, this book surpassed my expectations- and and then some. I had no idea it would likewise be then personal. The longer I listened to Comey speak - both about his personal and professional life, his values and ethical stand - the more I came to appreciate him.... and 'really' 'like' him. He acknowledged his parents and teachers beautifully. I wanted to admit 'him'. This book is a 'gift' on many levels - and not an ounce of 'slamming' anyone! Comey is not merely a humble human but very down to earth. I have no incertitude he'd exist a model neighbor. I got a kick virtually 'his confession'.... This volume was fabled- hard to believe there was a time when Comey was bullied at school... To this day - I get then mad hearing nigh kids being bullied in schools - ( will information technology ever cease?)....hopefully things are improving... His mother, had written him a notation and stuffed it in her drawer where it stayed for most 50 years that said Mama was right!!!

Paul and I were completely floored- frightened- mouths dropped opened- ( as unbelievable) when Comey shared the details from when the Ramsey Rapist broke into his business firm when he was a teenager. Parents were gone. Just his younger brother Pete and he were domicile. The choices the brothers made in the face of a devastating nightmare experience, were killing me. Clearly information technology was like shooting fish in a barrel to meet how i night was a life-altering issue.
He shared about lying to people when asked if he played basketball in college. For a human 6'8" alpine... I would assume he definitely played basketball in college.
The lie, even though a small one, began to swallow at him, to the point where he called his friends and confessed the truth.
Comey's a 'truth' homo... any size lie doesn't work for him..... which doesn't easily fit in the political world. A shame information technology doesn't!!!

This grown successful man wrote quite a bit about his 'bully' memories - and then information technology only goes to show those memories never completely become away. They leave scars. Thankfully, Comey, used those experiences to contribute to the 'greater good' in life.

An impressive background, an ehical man who constantly fought to be fair, remain unbiased. Something he admits to struggling with. He lays out clearly what the role of the FBI must be, a service that to put the public first must remain unbiased. Untied to the Oval role, Obama understood this, Trump clearly didn't. He explains the Clinton emails, how his team thought and the difficult decision he had to make. Why he made the determination and proceeded the fashion he did. That he finds Trump to non have the necessary character traits to serve every bit the head of this country, is something many of united states of america feel. From his beginning foreign meeting with Trump, to a wildly inappropriate dinner, he was put in a terrible bind, one he didn't know how to handle. Calling these non-fiction pieces the 'Trump Trifecta', they accept served me well in my non-fiction binge. Some may dispute the 'not-fiction' nature of these books, only that is for the reviewer (myself included) to decide in analysis while weighing the data presented. After reading about some of the controversial means past which the 2016 Presidential Election may take been influenced by outside sources and the wonky goings-on during the starting time year in the Trump White Firm in the first 2 books of the trifecta (check reviews should you want to know more than), this concluding piece seeks to take a footstep back from (and a giant i into) some of the events that may have led to a less than level playing field when it came to the 2016 Presidential Election. James Comey has written this quasi-memoir non just to set the tape direct from the perspective of the FBI, but likewise to explore his own life through a lens that he describes in the opening pages of his volume.
